Windsor Regional Hospital says cancer patients have the right to refuse a surgeon but doing so will likely result in a delay.

Dr. Shael Liebman is a Surgeon at Windsor Regional and says patients do have the right to choose, but it could mean more of a wait. Liebman says patients have rarely refused care from particular surgeons. However he anticipates more people will consider their options after two mistaken mastectomies by Doctor Barbara Heartwell at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital.
