| Water Intake Impacted by Wind Turbines | Fri Mar 12th, 2010 |
The expanded wind turbine proposal set for parts of Lake Erie could have a large impact on Union Water if it's allowed to move ahead. Union Water General Manager John Kehoe will present a report to the board next week which shows the utility will be unable to extend their water intakes if the project is allowed to move ahead. Kehoe says it would have been a problem with the five turbine proposal, but now with 55 turbines proposed in an area directly surrounding the intake, it would halt any possible expansion. Kehoe will present options to the board at their meeting next Wednesday, but didn't want to elaborate. | |
