The US Coast Guard is monitoring large quantities of ice in the southern end of Lake Huron that could potentially break into smaller pieces and affect boats in local waterways. Officials say smaller vessels could see issues in the St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River. All recreation boaters are being advised to avoid these waterways until conditions improve. The Coast Guard continues monitor water levels in both the St. Clair River and Lake St. Clair as well and has notified the Harsens Island Ferry of current ice conditions. | |
