The dates for two more public meetings are expected to be announced soon for a proposed solar farm along Middle Side Road in Amherstburg.

The Sarnia-based company First Solar is proposing a 10 megawatt farm on a 200-acre site.

The company says ideally it would have project approval later this year or early in 2011.

It could mean 100 jobs for a 6 month construction period.

First solar was intitially attracted to the land because it's flat and in a very sunny part of the province.

The developers held their first open house this past Thursday.
