So Dustyn, tell us about you!

Writing a Bio is tough!  I guess it’s time to take my story into my own hands.
My biggest fan usually writes my bios for me– my Mom.

I was born in 1982, the same year that Willie Nelson’s “Always on my Mind” was released to radio.  La Ronge Saskatchewan (way up north - now that’s cold) is where my life started.  In 1995 my family and I moved to Southern Ontario (way down south - now that’s hot).   Who would have thought 13 years later, I’m the afternoon drive guy for Country 92.7 CJSP?

I guess this is where I talk about what I do outside of Radio.

Other than being a DJ on air, I also DJ weddings and parties for a local DJ company.  (Speaking of DJ, Dustyn Janzen is my real name)

I’m in a band!  We cover Johnny Cash and Steve Earle tunes, and have given ourselves the brilliant band name “Early Cash”.   It’s a fun band that’s full of “D”s.  The members are my Dad, David, my best friends Drew and Dave, and the 4th D, myself, Dustyn.

When one of us shows up late for band practice, it’s common to hear “Hey our band name is Early Cash, not Late Cash”.

Between entertaining other people with Radio, DJ’n Weddings and Parties, and being in a band, what the heck entertains you?

I love entertainment that keeps it real! Lame sounding I know, but for REAL!
- Movies that are based on True Stories
-Reality T.V.
-True Crime Novels (I don’t actually read books, but if I did – I’d like these)

I know I’ll see you in the community, but when you’re not on the job – where might I bump into you?

I play a lot of golf!  I guess practice doesn’t always make perfect (I’m pretty terrible, but I still love it!)

I love downhill skiing!  When we were kids we used to take major vacations to ski resorts like Banff and Lake Louise.  Ever since moving this far south in Canada, I hit the slopes as often as possible! (Usually once every 2 years!!).

Country 92.7 CJSP is my new home.  I’m very happy to be here and I’ll talk to you soon!

John Michael Montgomery New Business Venture

  Published: 2010-09-03 12:55:15

John Michael Montgomery has a new business.   At the very least, there's an interesting website with his name on it.  This site ables musicians to send in their songs to be mixed, and even get studio musicians to help you add parts to your song.  Need a guitar solo for a song?  Prices changes for different services, but all in all - something you might be able share with a friend if you can't use it yourself.
