| Names Released from Monday Fatal Fire | Thu Jul 3rd, 2008 |
Essex Police have released the names of two of the three people who died in a fatal fire on Monday. 34 year old Cesario DaSilva Leal and his 11 year old daughter Raquel Ines Graca Leal, both of Leamington died after the trailer they were in caught on fire. The Windsor Essex County Health Unit says a local mosquito pool has tested positive for the first case of the west nile virus this year. County mosquito pools have been tested weekly since June in an effort to monitor the virus' presence. Medical Officer of Health Dr. Alan Heimann would only say the virus was found in Windsor adding further identifying an exact location may lead to people tampering with the mosquito traps... CAW Local 444 President Ken Lewenza has made it official, he will run to replace current union head Buzz Hargrove. Lewenza is currently the head of the local which covers Windsor two largest employers, Chrysler and Caesar's WIndsor. The number of properties being sold in Windsor-Essex continues to slide. Real Estate Board officials say they were down 5-point-85 percent in June, compared to last year.
